DRY AND CLEAR® MEDICATED SKIN CLEANSER SCHEDULING STATUS: Not scheduled. PROPRIETARY NAME (and dosage form): DRY AND CLEAR ® MEDICATED SKIN CLEANSER COMPOSITION: Each 100 mL contains: Salicylic Acid 500 mg Benzoic Acid 500 mg Benzethonium Chloride 100 mg Alcohol 50% v/v PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A.13.12 Acne preparations. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: Salicylic Acid and Benzoic Acid have antibacterial and antifungal properties. Benzethonium Chloride possesses bactericidal activity against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, and also has emulsifying and detergent properties. Alcohol, used externally is an effective solvent of fats, and oils, and its evaporation from the skin has a cooling astringent effect. INDICATIONS: Dry and Clear Medicated Skin Cleanser is indicated for the treatment of acne. CONTRA-INDICATIONS: None. DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Moisten a cotton pad with cleanser, and rub lightly over the entire face, as well as other affected areas like the neck, chest and back. Repeat the process if the skin is excessively oily, and DO NOT RINSE OFF AFTER USE. Dry and Clear Medicated Skin Cleanser can be used at any time, but is recommended especially after washing or bathing, on retiring and in the morning. SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: If skin becomes excessively dry, itchy or flaky, reduce the frequency of use. AVOID CONTACT WITH THE EYES, LIPS AND MOUTH. If severe skin irritation develops, discontinue use and consult a doctor. NOT TO BE TAKEN BY MOUTH.
