COMPOSITION:
Each 5 mL contains:
 
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride
10,0 mg
 
Ammonium Chloride
100,0 mg
 
Sodium Citrate
37,50 mg
 
Menthol
0,75 mg
 
in a pleasant-tasting raspberry base.
 
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A 10.1 Antitussives and expectorants
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Expectorant and Antihistaminic.
INDICATIONS:
Lennamine Expectorant is a pleasant, raspberry flavoured syrup which is indicated in the control of dry, unproductive
cough.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
The drug is contra-indicated in epileptics
WARNING:
This medicine may lead to drowsiness and impaired concentration which may be aggravated by simultaneous intake of
alcohol or other central nervous system depressant agents.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults:
Two 5 mL medicine measures.
Children: 12 years: One and a half 5 mL medicine measures.
 
7 years: One 5 mL medicine measure.
 
1 year: Half a 5 mL medicine measure.
Every three hours, when necessary.
SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth may occur.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Sedation; lack of concentration; lassitude; dizziness; muscular weakness; gastro-intestinal disturbances; convulsions and
hyperpyrexia in children; headache; blurred vision; anorexia. Empty the stomach by gastric lavage. The patient should
be kept quiet to minimise the excitation which occurs particularly in children and only if control becomes necessary,
should Paraldehyde be given by intramuscular injection.
Oxygen should be used for cyanosis and mechanical respiration may be necessary, should respiratory failure occur.
Convulsions are best treated with Paraldehyde, intramuscularly or with a very short-acting barbiturate, such as
