LENNON GLYCERIN SUPPOSITORIES FOR ADULTS SCHEDULING STATUS: Not scheduled PROPRIETARY NAME (and dosage form): LENNON GLYCERIN SUPPOSITORIES FOR ADULTS COMPOSITION: Each 2,4 g suppository contains: Glycerin 1,698 mL PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A 11.6 Lubricants and faecal softeners. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: Acts by its osmotic properties to attract water to the lumen thereby softening the stool and promoting bowel movement. INDICATIONS: For the relief of occasional constipation. CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Sensitivity to the ingredients. Do not use unless the patient to be treated is, in fact, constipated. WARNING: FOR RECTAL USE ONLY. This medicine should not be used in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting. Frequent or prolonged use of this preparation may result in dependence on laxatives and loss of normal bowel function. If a sudden change in bowel habits is noticed that has persisted for a period greater than two weeks, consult a doctor before using the laxative. No laxative should be used for longer one week, except on the advice of a doctor. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a doctor. May cause rectal discomfort or a burning sensation. Must be administered with caution to diabetic patients or to those at risk of dehydration.
