PROPRIETARY NAME (and dosage form): COMPOUND W ® SOLUTION COMPOSITION: Each 100 g of solution contains: Salicylic Acid 14,2 g Glacial Acetic Acid 11,0 g in an Acetone Collodion base PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A.13.8 Keratolytic. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: The active ingredients Salicylic Acid and Glacial Acetic Acid are well-known keratolytics when used in a collodion base as they are in COMPOUND W®. INDICATIONS: For the removal of all common warts, whether on hands, soles of feet or other parts of the body. The common wart is easily recognised by a rough cauliflower-like appearance of the top. CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Do not use COMPOUND W® on moles, birthmarks or unusual warts with hair growing from them. If you are a diabetic or have impaired circulation do not use as it may cause serious complications. DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Do not use near fire or flames. Use glass roll attached to caps to apply. Apply one drop at a time until the entire wart is covered. Avoid contact with the surrounding skin. COMPOUND W® dries quickly. Apply once or twice daily and repeat for six to seven days. SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: To be applied strictly according to directions for use. Do not use near eyes. FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. The ingestion of this product will cause severe pain in the mouth, throat and abdomen with the formation of white plaque and ulcers. Can cause severe pain if in contact with surrounding skin.
