1. FOR SYNCHRONISATION OF OESTRUS WITH ACTIVE HEAT DETECTION PRIOR
TO SUBMISSION
Insert for 7 - 12 days with an injection of prostaglandin F2α at
removal.
Cattle normally come into oestrus 48 - 96 hours after removal.
Use of a “heat mount detector” or tail paint for detecting oestrus
is recommended. RLP APPROVED
2. OESTRUS CYCLE CONTROL USING FIXED TIME ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION
(FTAI)
IN HEIFERS (PREVIOUSLY UNJOINED CATTLE)
FTAI programs for the synchronisation of oestrus in normally cycling
heifers and cows
using the Eazi-Breed CIDR Cattle Device should be formulated in
consultation with a
veterinarian, considering the needs of individual management systems
and environmental
conditions. Use one CIDR device per animal per program, i.e. a new
Eazi-Breed CIDR
Cattle Device should be used for each new program.
5-day Eazi-Breed CIDR insertion program for heifers:

Perform all treatments at approximately the same time each day.
Heifers and cows showing
signs of visible oestrus after the removal of the Eazi-Breed CIDR
Cattle Device may be
inseminated prior to day 8 and will not require the second injection
of Gonadorelin (as
acetate) (GnRH).
The 5-day synchronisation of oestrus program with fixed time
artificial insemination of dairy
heifers using conventional semen should result in pregnancy rates of
around 55% [range:
