BLŪGLOO
™
is a two-way color-change adhesive for aesthetic brackets. BLŪGLOO
contains a temperature-sensitive blue dye that becomes clear when it
approaches body temperature and reverts to a blue color when it falls
below
body temperature. The blue tint makes any excess or remaining adhesive
easier
to see when bonding and debonding.
TOOTH PREPARATION
x
Place lip/cheek retractor and saliva ejector in the mouth.
x
Apply etching solution to the bonding surfaces with applicator
sponges.
Dab gently and continuously for 30 seconds per tooth (one arch at a
time) –
do not rub. Rinse thoroughly for a minimum of 5 seconds per tooth with
a
forceful airway spray and suction using a high-speed evacuator.
Maintain a
dry field. Do not allow moisture, saliva or mucosal tissue to contact
the
etched enamel.

Dry the etched enamel with clean, dry air. Inspect to ensure a
uniform, dull
frosty appearance.
BONDING PROCEDURE
x
Dispense small amount of Ortho Solo
™
sealant on the mixing pad. Replace
the cap immediately after dispensing. Apply very thin, uniform coat of
Ortho Solo to prepared enamel surface using the brushes provided.
x
Extrude small amount of BLŪGLOO adhesive paste onto the base of the
bracket pad. After application, clean the tip and replace the cap.
x
Place bracket onto the tooth surface immediately after applying the
adhesive.
x
Position bracket, and press down firmly. A slight excess of BLŪGLOO
(blue
tint) should be visible around the periphery of the bracket.
x
Remove excess adhesive from the bracket base periphery. (The blue
color
will disappear when the adhesive reaches body temperature.)
x
With conventional light-curing units (i.e. Optilux 501), light-cure
the
adhesive for 10-15 seconds for clear and 20 seconds for metal
brackets.
Light-cure clear brackets by shining the light directly through the
bracket.
