TOPISALEN OINTMENT
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
Flumethasone pivalate 0.02%
Salicylic acid 3%
FOR INACTIVE INGREDIENTS IN THE PREPARATION - see section 6 "Further
Information".
READ THIS LEAFLET CAREFULLY IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE USING THE MEDICINE.
This leaflet contains
concise information about the medicine. If you have further questions,
refer to the doctor
or pharmacist.
This medicine has been prescribed for you. Do not pass it on to
others. It may harm them
even if it seems to you that their medical condition is similar. The
medicine is not intended
for infants under 2 years of age.
Do not use on large skin areas, open or infected wounds, inflamed
skin, moles or
birthmarks. Avoid occlusive dressings on the affected area (baby
diapers are an occlusive
dressing).
Special care is required when using in children and adolescents. Use
in these age groups
requires medical supervision.
If your condition does not improve within one week or if your
condition worsens, refer
to the doctor.
1. WHAT IS THE MEDICINE INTENDED FOR?
For local treatment in cases of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses,
especially in cases
of hyperkeratosis.
THERAPEUTIC GROUP: Flumethasone pivalate is a corticosteroid.
Salicylic acid is a keratolytic agent.
2. BEFORE USING THE MEDICINE
DO NOT USE THE MEDICINE IF:
• You have a known sensitivity to any of the medicine's ingredients,
to aspirin, salicylates
and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
• You are suffering from a viral infection (e.g., herpes or
chickenpox), fungal infections
or skin tuberculosis.
• Do not use in infants under 2 years of age.
SPECIAL WARNINGS REGARDING USE OF THE MEDICINE
• If you are sensitive to any type of food or medicine, inform the
doctor before using the
medicine.
• Do not use the preparation for any purpose other than that for
which it was
prescribed.
