WHY AM I TAKING AVAPRO HCT?
Avapro HCT contains the active ingredients irbesartan and
hydrochlorothiazide. Avapro HCT is used to treat high blood pressure,
which doctors call hypertension. For more information, see Section 1.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE I TAKE AVAPRO HCT?
Do not take if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Avapro HCT or
any of the ingredients listed at the end of the CMI. TALK
TO YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER MEDICAL CONDITIONS, TAKE ANY
OTHER MEDICINES, OR ARE PREGNANT OR PLAN TO BECOME

WHAT IF I AM TAKING OTHER MEDICINES?

HOW DO I TAKE AVAPRO HCT?

Your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take each day. The usual
dose is one tablet per day.

Swallow the table whole with a glass of water and take Avapro HCT at
about the same time each day.

Avapro HCT 300/12.5 tablets contain 300 mg of irbesartan and 12.5 mg

hydrochlorothiazide.
Avapro HCT 300/25 tablets contain 300 mg of irbesartan and 25 mg of
hydrochlorothiazide.
EXCIPIENTS WITH KNOWN EFFECT:
Lactose monohydrate.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Avapro HCT is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. Treatment
should not be initiated
with this fixed-dose combination.

DOSE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Avapro HCT should not be initiated as first-line therapy. The daily
dose can be administered
with or without food.
REPLACEMENT THERAPY
The combination may be substituted for the titrated components at the
same dose level.
DOSE TITRATION BY CLINICAL EFFECT
When clinically appropriate, direct change from monotherapy to the
fixed combinations may
be considered:
•
Avapro HCT 150/12.5 mg may be administered to patients whose blood
pressure is
not adequately controlled with hydrochlorothiazide or irbesartan 150
mg alone.
•
Avapro HCT 300/12.5 mg may be administered to patients insufficiently
controlled
