OXFEN
Contains oxfendazole BP 22.65gm/litre.
For the control of sensitive mature and immature haemonchus,
ostertagia,
trichostrongylus, nematodirus, cooperia, strongyloides, bunostomum,
oesophagostomum, chabertia, trichuris, dictyocaulus and moniezia in
cattle,
sheep, goats and deer, and type II Ostertagia in cattle and as an aid
in the
control of fluke in sheep.
Oxfen is also ovicidal. Oxfen contains oxfendazole a member of the
benzimidazoles. It is effective against internal parasites sensitive
to this family.
Resistance can develop to any anthelmintic. Ask your local veterinary
practitioner
or animal health adviser for recommended parasite management practices
for
your area to reduce development of resistance. It is advisable that a
resistance
test be conducted regularly when using any parasite treatment.
IT IS AN OFFENCE FOR USERS OF THIS PRODUCT TO CAUSE RESIDUES EXCEEDING
THE
RELEVANT MRL IN THE FOOD NOTICE: MAXIMUM RESIDUE LEVELS FOR
AGRICULTURAL
COMPOUNDS.
WITHHOLDING PERIOD:
MILK – Milk from cattle intended for sale for human consumption must
be
discarded during treatment and for not less than 5 days following the
last
treatment.
Milk from Sheep and Goats intended for sale for human consumption must
be
discarded during treatment and for not less than 35 days following the
last
treatment.
MEAT – Animals producing meat or offal for human consumption must
not be
sold for slaughter either during treatment or within 10 days of the
last treatment.
