Therapeutic indications:

Bifurcated needle is provided with ACAM2000 smallpox vaccine (AUST R 153108) for vaccination. ACAM2000 consists of freeze-dried vaccine vials and diluent vials. After reconstitution, a droplet of reconstituted vaccine is picked up with a bifurcated needle by dipping bifurcated end of needle into ACAM2000 vial. The droplet is deposited onto clean, dry skin of the arm prepared for vaccination. The bifurcated needle is held between thumb and first finger perpendicular to the skin, and the droplet is administered by the percutaneous route (scarification) using 15 jabs of the bifurcated needle. Bifurcated needle will only be supplied with ACAM2000.
