DOSE RATE:
Calefur Sterile Powder for Injection should be
administered by intramuscular injection (horses
and cattle) or subcutaneous injection (dogs) at
the following rates:
HORSES (intramuscularly): 2.0mg ceftiofur/kg
bodyweight (4.0 mL/100 kg bw). Repeat
treatments each 24 hours for 4 to 5 days or for
48 hours after symptoms have resolved.
CATTLE (intramuscularly): 1.0mg ceftiofur/kg
bodyweight (2.0 mL/100 kg bw). Repeat
treatments each 24 hours until 48 hours after
symptoms have resolved.
DOGS (subcutaneously): 2.0mg ceftiofur/kg
bodyweight (0.2 mL/5 kg bw).
Repeat treatments each 24 hours for 5 to 14
days, subject to clinical response.

ACTIVE CONSTITUENT:
CEFTIOFUR (as ceftiofur sodium) 50
mg/mL, when reconstituted as directed
For the treatment of equine and bovine
respiratory infections caused by organisms
sensitive to ceftiofur, by intramuscular
injection.
For the treatment of canine urinary tract
infections caused by organisms sensitive to
ceftiofur, by subcutaneous injection.

FIRST AID: If poisoning occurs, contact a
doctor or Poisons Information Centre.

STORAGE:
Store below 30°C. (room temperature).
Reconstituted product may be stored at
room temperature (below 30°C) for up to
12 hours; or refrigerated (2-8°C) for up to
7 days. Protect from light at all times.
Discard unused portions of reconstituted
product after 12 hours of storage at
room temperature or after 7 days
of refrigeration.
DISPOSAL:
Dispose of empty containers and outer
packaging by wrapping with paper and
putting in garbage.
