Teicoplanin is indicated for the treatment of the following serious infections due to Staphylococci or Streptococci, which cannot be treated satisfactorily with less toxic agents, including beta-lactam antibiotics: bone (osteomyelitis); joints (septic arthritis); blood (noncardiac bacteraemia, septicaemia).
