SUPER-TABS [TABLETS] SCHEDULING STATUS: Not scheduled PROPRIETARY NAME (and dosage form): SUPER-TABS [TABLETS] COMPOSITION: Each tablet contains: Yellow Phenolphthalein 194 mg PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A 11.5 Laxatives. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: Promotes bowel movement by one or more direct actions in the intestine. INDICATIONS: For the relief of occasional constipation. CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Sensitivity to Phenolphthalein, intestinal obstruction or undiagnosed abdominal symptoms. WARNINGS: Super-Tabs should not be used in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or for a period longer than one week, unless directed by a doctor. If you have noticed a change in bowel habits that has persisted for a period longer than one week or have rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative, which may be indicative of a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a doctor. Frequent or prolonged use of Super-Tabs may result in dependence on laxatives and loss of normal bowel function. If a skin rash appears or if a patient is known to be sensitive in any other regard to Phenolphthalein, Super-Tabs should be discontinued immediately and this or any other preparation containing Phenolphthalein should not be used in future. Toxic epidermal necrolysis may be life-threatening. DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: ADULTS: One Super-Tab with water in the morning or evening. SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: Excessive laxation or electrolytes depletion [with high doses], skin reactions, including non specific rashes, pigmentation and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
