WHAT APO-IRBESARTAN/HCTZ
IS USED
FOR
This medication is used for treatment of
essential hypertension. This fixed dose
combination is used in adult patients
whose blood pressure is not properly
controlled by irbesartan or
hydrocholothiazide alone.
HOW APO-IRBESARTAN/HCTZ WORKS
Apo-Irbesartan/HCTZ contains a
combination of hydrochlorothiazide and
irbesartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a
thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps
prevent your body from absorbing too
much salt, which can cause fluid
retention. Irbesartan is an angiotensin II
receptor antagonist. Irbesartan keeps
blood vessels from narrowing, which
lowers blood pressure and improves
blood flow.

You should not use this product if you
are allergic to either Irbesartan or
Hydrocholorothiazide

_Pregnancy and lactation _
Do not take Apo-Irbesartan/HCTZ if you
are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or
think you may be pregnant.
Do not take Apo-Irbesartan/HCTZ if you
are breast-feeding. Ask your doctor or
pharmacist for advice before taking any
medicine.
