HOW QURVION C TABLET WORKS Qurvion C Tablet is essential for the formation of collagen and protein, and hence for the development of cartilage, bone, and teeth, and for the healing of wounds. BEFORE YOU TAKE QURVION C TABLET _-When you must not use it: _ Do not take Qurvion C Tablet if allergic to vitamin C or any ingredients in the tablets. _ _ _- Before you start to use it: _ Inform the doctor or pharmacist if you have kidney problems, especially history of kidney stones, or you are undergoing haemodialysis. _-Taking other medicines: _ Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you buy without a prescription from a pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. HOW TO TAKE QURVION C TABLET _- How to take it_ Adults: 200mg to 500 mg a day _-When to take it :_ To be taken as prescribed by physician after meals. _ _ _-How long to take it :_ Continue taking Qurvion C Tablet as long as your doctor recommended. _-If you forget to take it :_ Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose. PRODUCT LITERATURE QURVION C TABLET 100MG Each tablet contains: Ascorbic Acid BP 50 mg Sodium Ascorbate BP 57 mg (equivalent to Ascorbic Acid BP 50 mg) QURVION C TABLET 250MG Each tablet contains: Ascorbic Acid BP 125 mg Sodium Ascorbate BP 140 mg (equivalent to Ascorbic Acid BP 125 mg) DESCRIPTION Qurvion C Tablet 100mg: Oval-shape, yellow coloured tablet. Qurvion C Tablet 250mg: Round, orange coloured tablet. PHARMACODYNAMICS / PHARMACOKINETICS N/A INDICATION Health supplement. ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION Oral. RECOMMENDED DOSE QURVION C TABLET 100MG – Adult: 2-3 tablets a day or as prescribed by physician after meals QURVION C TABLET 250MG – Adults: 1 or more tablet, up to 500 mg a day, or as prescribed by physician after meals CONTRAINDICATION Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS PEDIATRICS Problems in pediatrics have not been documented with intake of normal daily recommended amounts. GERIATRICS Problems in geriatrics have not been documented with intake of normal daily recommended amounts. DENTAL Excessive use of chewable ascorbic acid tablets has been reported to cause breakdown of tooth enamel. INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEDICAMENT No interaction studies have been performed. PREGNANCY/REPRODUCTION Vitamin C may be taken by pregnant and lactating women under the supervision of a doctor. SIDE EFFECTS THOSE INDICATING NEED FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION INCIDENCE DOSE-RELATED KIDNEY STONES, OXALATE (side or lower back pain) NOTE: Occasionally, prolonged doses of ascorbic acid in excess of 1 g per day have been reported to cause an increase in urinary oxalate, which may cause precipitation of oxalate stones in the urinary tract in patients with renal disease, especially those on hemodialysis, or in patients with a history of renal stones. However, studies have not found an increase in urinary oxalate formation with high doses of ascorbic acid.
