WHAT RECOVE HEAT LINIMENT IS USED
FOR
Recove Heat Liniment is used for the
relief of aches and pains including
rheumatism, arthritis, backache,
bruises, sprains and strains due to
sports injuries.
HOW RECOVE HEAT LINIMENT WORKS
Recove Heat Liniment contains
Methyl Salicylate which having
analgesic and rubefacient effects. It
increases blood flow, provide feeling
of warmth and gives rapid relief of
aches and pains.
BEFORE YOU USE RECOVE HEAT
LINIMENT
_- When you must not use it _
Do not use if you are hypersensitivity
to Methyl Salicylate or any other
ingredients in this product.
_- Before you start to use it _
Do not apply onto open wounds.
_- Taking other medicines _
For patients taking Warfarin,
excessive application onto the skin for
muscular or joint pains may increase
the chances of bleeding.
HOW TO USE RECOVE HEAT LINIMENT
_- How much to use_
Rub a small amount of medicated liniment
onto the affected area and massage gently
with roller-head for 1 minute.
_- When to use it _
Use when required.
_- How long to use it _
Repeat 2 to 3 times a day or reapply as
needed for continued relief.
_- If you forget to use it _
If you forget to use Recove Heat Liniment,
use it as soon as you remember.
_- If you use too much (overdose) _
Overdose is unlikely occur. In the event of
accidental ingestion, the patient should be
sent to the nearest hospital for medical
advice.

PRESENTATION:
Bottle of 55ml.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS:
A pale yellowish clear solution.
PHARMACOLOGY:
Methyl Salicylate is a counter-irritant preparation which possesses
analgesic and
rubefacient effects. It increases blood flow, provides feeling of
warmth and gives
rapid relief of aches and pains.
INDICATIONS:
For the relief of aches and pains including rheumatism, arthritis,
backache, bruises,
sprains and strains due to sports injuries.
DIRECTIONS OF USE:
Rub a small amount of medicated liniment onto the affected area and
massage
gently with the roller-head for 1 minute. Repeat 2 to 3 times daily or
when required.
SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENTS OF OVERDOSE:
Symptoms: Symptoms of mild chronic salicylate intoxication or
salicylism include
dizziness, tinnitus, deafness, sweating, nausea and vomiting, headache
and
mental confusion. Symptoms of severe intoxication include
hyperventilation, fever,
restlessness, ketosis and respiratory alkalosis and metabolic
acidosis. Depression
of the central nervous system may lead to coma, cardiovascular
collapse and
respiratory failure. In children, drowsiness and metabolic acidosis
commonly occur,
hypoglycaemia may be severe.
Treatment: In acute overdosage, the stomach should be emptied by
emesis or by
aspiration or lavage. Patient should be encouraged to drink plenty of
fluids. In
severe intoxication, forced alkaline diuresis may be required and
should be
continued until the plasma salicylate concentration is less than 350
mcg/ml in
adults. Then, intravenous fluid may be stopped and patient are
encouraged to take
fluids by mouth. Plasma electrolytes, especially potassium and
acid-base balance
should be monitored regularly.
Acidaemia must be corrected by infusion of Sodium Bicarbonate before
starting
forced diuresis. In the presence of cardiac or renal impairment or in
very severe
intoxication, haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis may be necessary.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Do not use if hypersensitive to Methyl Salicylate.
