WHAT SENNA IS USED FOR
SENNA contains sennosides, which are
known as stimulant laxatives. It is used
to treat constipation, especially for
elderly, pregnant lady or fist few weeks
for a mother who has given birth.
It may also be used to clean out the
intestines before a bowel examination/
surgery.
HOW SENNA WORKS
Senna is a natural medicine derived from
the Senna plant. Senna contains
sennosides which acts as a stimulant
laxative. It works by irritating and
stimulating intestinal cells, producing
contraction in intestines, water influx to
the intestines and bowel movement.
BEFORE YOU USE SENNA

SENNA should not be given with
disorders that involve chronic
inflammation of the digestive tract.
Prolonged use should be avoided.
Senna should not be given with
intestinal obstruction or with
undiagnosed abdominal symptoms.

_Before you start to use it _

Before using this medication, tell your
doctor or pharmacist your medical
history, especially of appendicitis or
symptoms of appendicitis (such as
nausea/ vomiting, sudden of
unexplained stomach/ abdominal
pain), a sudden change in bowel habits
that last for longer than 2 weeks,
bleeding from the rectum, intestinal
blockage.

HOW TO USE SENNA

Adult, elderly and children above 12
years old: 2-4 tablets daily
Children 6-12 years old:
1-2 tablets daily
Children under 6 years old:
