WHAT ZORAL CREAM IS USED FOR
Zoral
cream
is
used
to
treat
herpes simplex virus infections
of the skin including initial and
recurrent
genital
herpes
and
herpes labialis.
HOW ZORAL CREAM WORKS
Acyclovir, the active ingredient
of
Zoral
cream,
belongs
to
a
class of anti-viral medicines.
BEFORE YOU USE ZORAL CREAM
_-When you must not take it _
DO NOT use if you are allergic
(hypersensitive) to acyclovir or
valacyclovir
.
_-Before you start to take it _
If you have any other questions,
or
if
there
is
something
you
don't
understand,
please
ask
your doctor or pharmacist.
_-Taking other medicines _
Please
tell
your
doctor
or
pharmacist if you are taking or
have recently
taken any other
medicines,
including
those
obtained without a prescription
and herbal medicines.
HOW TO TAKE ZORAL CREAM
_-How much to take _
Always apply Zoral exactly as
your doctor has told you. You
should check with your doctor
or
pharmacist
if
you
are
not
sure.
Apply to affected areas 5 times
daily
at
4-hourly
intervals
omitting the night-time dose.
_-When to take it _
Treatment should start as early
as possible after the start of an
infection.
_-How long to take it _
Continue treatment for 5 days.
Treatment may be continued for
up to 10 days if healing has not
occurred.
_-If you forget to take it _
If you forget to use Zoral cream,
use it as soon as you remember.
However, if it is nearly time for
your next application, skip the
missed application. Do not take
a double application to make up
for a forgotten application.
_-If you take too much (overdose) _
Talk
to

doctor
