2.0 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION
Tioconazole is available for vaginal administration as 100 mg
tablets.
Tioconazole is a member of the imidazole class of compounds.
Tioconazole Tablet is a bullet-shaped white homogenous tablet.
3.0 PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

4.0 CLINICAL PARTICULARS
4.1 Therapeutic Indications
Tioconazole vaginal tablets are indicated for the local treatment of
patients with vulvovaginal
candidiasis (moniliasis).
4.2 Posology and Method of Administration
Tioconazole as tablet (100 mg) should be applied once nightly on
retiring, for the specified dura-
tion of treatment using the applicator supplied. Tioconazole is
effective when applied for 3, 6 or
14 days. Three days treatment effects a cure in most patients. A
repeat course of 3 days treat-
ment may be effective in patients who are improved but not cured by

Tioconazole is a synthetic broad spectrum antifungal agent which, _in
vitro_, is fungicidal to yeasts
