INDICATIONS FOR USE, SPECIFYING THE TARGET SPECIES
Amoxycillin is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin,
bactericidal in
action. _In vitro_ it is effective against a wide range of
Gram-positive and Gram-
negative bacteria found in dogs and cats which include: _Bacillus
cereus, _
_Bordetella bronchiseptica, Corynebacterium _spp, _Citrobacter
freundii, _
_Chromobacter _spp, _Escherichia coli_, _Flavobacter _spp, _Proteus
mirabilis, _
_Pasteurella _spp, including _P. multocida, Salmonella _spp,
staphylococci
(penicillin-sensitive strains) and streptococci.
Amoxygen 200 mg Tablets are suitable for the control of infections in
dogs
and cats caused by susceptible organisms including: infections of the
alimentary tract, respiratory tract and urogenital tract, eye and ear
infections,
and skin and wound infections

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Should not be given to penicillin sensitive animals. As with other
penicillins,
Amoxicillin should not be used orally or parenterally in rabbits,
guinea pigs,

hamsters or gerbils. Caution is advised when used in other very small
herbivores.
