OINTMENT COMPOSITION: Each tube contains: ZINC UNDECENOATE 5,250 g UNDECENOIC ACID 1,250 g TERPINEOL 0,625 mL Water miscible base to 25 g PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: 13.9.2 Fungicides. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: A.F. Ointment has antifungal properties. INDICATIONS: A.F. Ointment is indicated in the treatment of athlete’s foot, ringworm, dhobie itch and other DERMATOPHYTIC INFECTIONS of superficial areas. FOR GREATEST EFFECTIVENESS, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT A.F. OINTMENT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A.F. POWDER. CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Not to be applied to open wounds. DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: ATHLETE’S FOOT: Each night after washing the feet with soap and warm water, dry gently but thoroughly and apply A.F. Ointment liberally, rubbing in well between the toes and over the affected areas. In the morning A.F. Powder should be dusted on to the skin and into the socks and shoes. RINGWORM, DHOBIE ITCH AND OTHER FUNGAL INFECTIONS: The affected area should be washed with soap and water each night, thoroughly dried and the ointment well rubbed in. A.F. Powder should be dusted over the area in the morning. If only A.F. Ointment is used, application should be made morning and night. As the fungus is very resistant, combined treatment with ointment and powder should be maintained until it is certain that the infection is completely eliminated and cure effected.
