Cattle: Finadyne solution is recommended for the antipyretic effect in acute inflammatory conditions in cattle - as IV injection only. Pigs: Sow mamilliary metritis agalactia syndrome - as IM injection only.

NAME OF THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT, ITS FORM AND STRENGTH FINADYNE VETERINARY Solution for Injection 2. ACTIVE INGREDIENT/S: Flunixin (as meglumine) 5.0% w/v Preservative: Phenol 0.50% w/v A list of inactive ingredients is detailed in section 13 - "Further Information". 3. WHAT IS THE MEDICINE INTENDED FOR: Horses: For the alleviation of inflammatory pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders and for the alleviation of visceral pain associated with colic. Cattle: As an antipyretic for respiratory disease in cattle. Pigs: Mammilliary metritis agalactia syndrome. 4. CONTRAINDICATIONS: - Do not use in case of sensitivity to any of the ingredients. - Do not exceed the recommended dose or the duration of treatment. - Do not use in case of cardiac, hepatic or renal diseases. - Do not use in case of possible gastro-intestinal ulceration or bleeding. - Do not administer to pregnant mares. - Do not treat pregnant sows or those intended for breeding. - Do not use in cattle within 48 hours preceding expected parturition time. 5. SIDE EFFECTS: Finadyne Veterinary is a medicine from the NSAIDs - non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug group. Untoward effects can include digestive system irritation, peptic ulcers, and, in dehydrated or hypovolemic (low plasma level) animals, there is a risk of renal damage. In pigs local irritation may occur at the injection site. This effect resolves spontaneously within 14 days. If you notice any serious effects or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinary surgeon. 1 SUMMARY OF PRODCUT CHARASTERISTICS 1. NAME OF VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT Finadyne Veterinary 2. QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Active substance: Flunixin (as meglumine) 50 mg/ml Excipients: Phenol (preservative) 5 mg/ml For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1. 3. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Solution for injection. 4. CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1. Target species Cattle, horses and pigs. 4.2. Indications for use, specifying the target species In Cattle: For the antipyretic effect in acute inflammatory conditions. In Horses: For the alleviation of inflammation and pain associated with musculo-skeletal disorders. For the alleviation of visceral pain associated with colic. In Pigs: Sow mamilliary metritis agalactia syndrome. 4.3. Contra-indications Do not exceed the stated dose or the duration of treatment. Use is contra-indicated in animals suffering from cardiac, hepatic or renal disease, where there is the possibility of gastro-intestinal ulceration or bleeding, or where there is hypersensitivity to the product. Do not use the product within 48 hours before expected parturition in cows. Do not administer to pregnant mares. Do not administer to pregnant sows, gilts at mating and in breeding boars. Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1. 2 4.4. Special warning for each target species Non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs are not permitted under the rules of Racing and under rules covering other competitive events. The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons has given advice to the Veterinary Profession regarding the use of anti-inflammatory drugs in competing horses. It states that “if a veterinarian recommends the discontinuation of any such drug not less than eight days before racing, he should feel sure that he has catered for all but the most exceptional case”.
