PRESCRIPTION ANIMAL REMEDY KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN FOR ANIMAL TREATMENT ONLY RANVET’S BUTE GRANULES As an analgesic and anti-inflammatory in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in horses. PHENYLBUTAZONE 1g/1.3g level measure MADE IN AUSTRALIA FROM LOCAL AND IMPORTED INGREDIENTS 100 G NET DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Administration to horses with cardiac, renal or hepatic disease is contraindicated. Concurrent use with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids is contraindicated. Use with caution in foals and ponies as they exhibit increased sensitivity to phenylbutazone toxicity. Discontinue therapy if signs of diarrhoea, lethargy, inappetence, oral or gastric ulceration or vascular disorders are observed. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:Each level measure (1.3g) contains approximately Phenylbutazone 1g. HORSES: 2.2 – 8.8mg/kg/day as directed by the veterinary surgeon. Reduce daily dose to lowest level producing desired clinical response. Example regimen (450kg horse) 2 level measures twice daily (4.4mg/kg _b.i.d_) for the first day, then 1 level measure twice daily (2.2mg/kg _ b.i.d_) for 4 days then 1 level measure once daily (2.2mg/kg _s.i.d_) or on alternate days. PONIES: 2.2-4.4mg/kg/day as directed by the veterinary surgeon. Reduce daily dose to the lowest level producing desired clinical response. Example regimen (225kg pony) give ½ level measure twice daily (2.2mg/kg _ b.i.d_) for 4 days, then ½ level measure once daily (2.2mg/kg _s.i.d_) or on alternate days. Granules may be mixed well with a little dry bran or oats. If using in performance animals regulations of relevant authorities regarding medications should be observed. MEAT WITHHOLDING PERIOD: NOT TO BE USED IN HORSES THAT MAY BE SLAUGHTERED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.
