COMPOSITION:
Each 10 mL contains:
Liquid Paraffin
5 mL
Preservatives:
Methylhydroxybenzoate 0,08% m/v
Propylhydroxybenzoate 0,02% m/v
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A 11.5 Laxatives.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
A laxative with lubricant properties.
INDICATIONS:
For the symptomatic relief of constipation.
WARNINGS:
This medicine should not be used in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting. Frequent or prolonged use of
this preparation may result in dependence on laxatives. Prolonged use may interfere with the absorption of fat soluble
vitamins.
If a sudden change in bowel habits persists over a period of two weeks consult your doctor before using this product. It
should not be used for a period longer than one week unless ordered by a doctor, especially during pregnancy.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Not recommended for children under the age of two years.
Adults:
5 - 30 mL (1 - 6 medicine measures).
Children:
(6 - 12 years) 2,5 - 10 mL (½ - 2 medicine measures) daily in divided doses or at bedtime.

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Prolonged use should be avoided
Liquid paraffin is absorbed to a slight extent when emulsified and may give rise to granulomatous reactions. Should not
be given to bedridden patients because the liquid paraffin may be aspirated and cause lipid pneumonitis. Do not use
during lactation, unless directed by a doctor.
INTERACTIONS:
The absorption of liquid paraffin may be enhanced by the concomitant use of dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate (a stool
softener).
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Excessive dosage may
