NEURO-B TABLET Each tablet contains:- Thiamine mononitrate 100mg Vitamin B6 200mg Vitamin B12 200mcg Avicel Magnesium Stearate PVP Starch PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: Thiamine is required for carbohydrate metabolism. Thiamine combines with adenosine triphosphate to form thiamine diphosphate which is the coenzyme in carbohydrate metabolism and transketolation reactions. The organ systems principally affected by thiamine deficiency are the peripheral nervous system, cardiovascular system, and G.I. tract. Vitamin B6 is required for amino acids metabolism; the vitamin is also involved in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. It is converted to the active forms of the vitamin, pyridoxal phosphate and pyridoxamine phosphate, which acts as coenzyme in a wide variety of intermediary metabolism. Pyridoxine appears to be essential in the synthesis of GABA within the CNS and in the synthesis of heme. Vitamin B12 is required for nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis, cell reproduction, normal growth, and the maintenance of normal erythropoiesis. Vitamin B12 is converted to coenzyme B12 in tissues. Through a variety of reactions, vitamin B12 is associated with fat and carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis. INDICATION: It is indicated in treatment of polyneuritis, neuralgia and diabetic neuropathy. DOSAGE: Oral administration. Adults: One tablet three times daily to be taken before or during meals. CONTRAINDICATIONS: It is contraindicated in patients known to be hypersensitive to any of the components. Cyanocobalamin should not be used in patients with early Leber’s disease (hereditary optic nerve atrophy). It is also contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to cobalt. ADVERSE EFFECTS/SIDE EFFECTS: The adverse reactions reported were nausea, headache, paraesthesia, somnolence, and urticaria. Long-term administration of large doses of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is associated with the development of severe peripheral neuropathies. Therefore, regular monitoring is recommended under long-term treatment. PREGNANCY AND LACTATI 阅读完整的文件
