CHE COS’È SIMVASTATINA SANDOZ E A COSA SERVE
Simvastatina Sandoz contiene il principio attivo simvastatina.
Simvastatina Sandoz è un medicinale usato per ridurre i livelli di
colesterolo totale, del colesterolo “cattivo”
(LDL) e delle sostanze grasse chiamate trigliceridi nel sangue.
Inoltre, Simvastatina Sandoz aumenta i livelli di colesterolo
“buono” (HDL). Simvastatina Sandoz
appartiene alla classe di medicinali detti statine.
Il colesterolo è uno tra tanti grassi che si trovano nel sangue. Il
colesterolo totale è formato principalmente da
colesterolo LDL e HDL.
Il colesterolo LDL è comunemente detto colesterolo “cattivo”
perché può accumularsi nelle pareti delle
arterie e formare delle placche. Con il passar del tempo queste
placche aumentano di dimensioni e finiscono
per ostruire le arterie. Questo restringimento può causare un
rallentamento o un blocco del flusso s

FORMA FARMACEUTICA
Compresse rivestite con film.
10 mg:
Compressa rivestita, di colore rosa pallido, di forma ovale, incisa,
convessa, con la sigla “SIM
10” su un lato.
20 mg:
Compressa rivestita, di color arancione, di forma ovale, biconvessa,
con linea di frattura su
entrambi i lati e con la sigla “20” su un lato.
40 mg:
Compressa rivestita, di color rosso-marrone, di forma ovale,
biconvessa, con linea di frattura su
entrambi lati e con la sigla “40” su un lato.
La compressa può essere divisa in due dosi uguali.

INDICAZIONI TERAPEUTICHE
IPERCOLESTEROLEMIA
Trattamento dell’ipercolesterolemia primaria o della dislipidemia
mista, in aggiunta alla dieta, quando la
risposta alla dieta o ad altri trattamenti non farmacologici (come
l’esercizio fisico, la riduzione del peso
corporeo) è inadeguata.
Trattamento dell’ipercolesterolemia familiare omozigote (IF
omozigote) in aggiunta alla dieta e ad altri
trattamenti ipolipemizzanti (es. LDL aferesi) o se tali trattamenti
non sono appropriati.
PREVENZIONE CARDIOVASCOLARE
Riduzione della mortalità e della morbilità cardiovascolare in
pazienti con malattia aterosclerotica
cardiovascolare
